Dennis F. English

Funeral services for Dennis F. English, age 64 of Lisbon, will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday (June 13, 2015) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held also on Saturday from 12:00pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Dennis died Tuesday (June 9, 2015) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Surviving is his wife Susan (Lockhart) English of Lisbon; sisters Teresa English Bush-Fields & her husband Jim of Ogdensburg, Mary Gallacher & her husband Brent, Rebecca LeSeur & her husband David and Mitze Shipton & her husband Ted all of Canada; Step-Father Robert Caughey of Ogdensburg; step brother Michael Caughey of Ogdensburg; brother in-law Joe Rosier of Williston, SC; sister-in-law Gloria Gebo of Ogdensburg, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

His parents William & Arlene English and two sisters Cecilia “Peggy” Rosier and Patricia Eccleston predeceased him.

Dennis was born in Watertown NY, a son of the late William & Arlene (Daniel) English. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy and later enlisted in the US Army from 1970-1973 during the Vietnam War. On January 3, 2004, Dennis married Susan McPherson Lockhart at his parent’s home. Sue was the love of his life and they enjoyed every moment together. They loved to travel to visit his sister Peggy, and spent Christmas holidays with her for several years.

During his career he worked at Diamond International, bartended, drove truck for Black River Transport, Three Knights and later Relco Systems in Lockport, NY for 16+ years until his retirement. Dennis will be remembered for his dedication to the Fire Department and his friends. He was always willing to help whoever needed him.
