Calling hours will be held also on Tuesday from 1:00pm until the time of the service. Mr. Wells passed away on Thursday (Aug 16, 2018) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center after being stricken at home.
Surviving is his wife Linda; two sons Daniel Wells of Watertown and Micah (Heather) Wells of Ogdensburg; three daughters Kelly (Terry) Schaub of Brockville Ontario, Missy (Michael) LaFleaur of Ogdensburg and Bridget Goolden of Ogdensburg; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers George Wells Jr. of Ogdensburg, Rev. Thomas (Gail) Wells of Virginia and Scott Wells of Florida; a sister Jenine Relling of Ogdensburg and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Two brothers Douglas & Steven Wells predeceased him.
Dan was born on October 4, 1946 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of the late George J. & Lois (Gates) Wells. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and entered the US Army, where he trained as an engineer in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Following his honorable discharge, he remained active with the Army Reserves for 10 years.
Dan worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center for 40 years as a therapy aid, and retired in 2008. He enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo and harmonica, listening to music of all kinds especially gospel, loved the outdoors, being in the mountains, spending time on the river and being with his family.
