Funeral services for Clifford E. LaLone, age 94 of Hammond will be held on Thursday (April 25, 2013) at 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Weidler officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Hammond.
Calling hours will be held also on Thursday at the funeral home from 12:00pm until the time of the service. Mr. LaLone passed away on (April 22, 2013) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
Surviving is his son David LaLone & his wife Angela of Morristown; a grandson Eric LaLone of Morristown; a sister Beulah Neuroth of Hammond along with many nieces, nephews & cousins. His wife Althea LaLone along with his siblings Dorothy Bloss, Donald LaLone, Harold LaLone & Clarence LaLone predeceased him.
Clifford was born on April 25, 1918 in West Carthage NY, a son of the late Norman & Myrtle (White) LaLone. He attended West Carthage High School for his education and married Althea McMillan on April 15, 1938 at the Calgary Tabernacle in Carthage, NY. He then entered in the US Army from 1942 to 1946 and was stationed in Africa, Italy, France & Germany during his enlistment. He was employed as a machinist throughout his career, and was employed at Crown Zellerback Paper Company in Carthage, Remington Rand Company in Syracuse, Seal Rite in Fulton, General Electric Company in Syracuse and later transferred to General Electric Company in Portsmouth, VA where he retired from in 1981. In 1981 he moved to Hammond and worked as a care taker on six of the area islands.
