Carroll F. Roy, age 94, of Lisbon, passed away peacefully late Sunday, March 16, 2025, at St. Joseph's Home in Ogdensburg. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the White Church Cemetery with military honors.
Carroll is survived by his beloved wife, Meredith; his children, Randy Roy of Willington, NC, Melanie (Marvin) Richardson of Noblesville, IN, Robert Roy of Lisbon, Carla (William) Stucklen of Mt. Sinai, NY, and Cindy (Daniel) Kahle of Noblesville, IN; his grandchildren, Sydney Roy, Brittany and Cassandra Stucklen, Emily (Adam) Bauer, Ryan (Shannon) Richardson, and Reed (Elizabeth) Richardson; and his great-grandchildren, Ella and Ava Bauer, and Lincoln, Coen, and Tucker & Lainey Richardson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sons, Michael and Kevin Roy; his brothers, Robert and Donald Roy; and his sister, Anna Jenks.
Carroll was born on September 1, 1930, in Lisbon, a son of the late Lyle and Bessie (Walther) Roy. He graduated from Lisbon High School and continued his education at Delhi College. Carroll proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, earning an honorable discharge and Purple Heart. He married Meredith A. Pearson on August 21, 1954.
Carroll had a long and varied career. He worked for Alcoa & Reynolds Metals and served as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Lisbon until his retirement in 1997. In addition to his postal service, he worked security at St. Lawrence University, sold encyclopedias, prepared taxes, and co-operated C & M Antiques with his wife. Carroll was also a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Hepburn Library board. In his spare time, he enjoyed swimming, hiking in the mountains, biking, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
