Bruce A. Wood

Funeral services for Bruce A. Wood, age 77 of Lisbon, will be held on Tuesday (May 10, 2016) at 11:00am at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 3:00-7:00pm and again on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Bruce passed away on Thursday (May 5, 2016) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Surviving is his wife Phyllis; two sons Roger (Aron) Wood of Ogdensburg, Craig (Donna) Wood of Lisbon; three daughters Debra Wood of Brockport, Penny (Ron) Fields of Ogdensburg, Lisa (Brian) Morley of Ogdensburg; a brother Dale (Phyllis) Wood of PA; grandchildren RJ (Erin) Fields, Jessica (Ian) McGuire, Jenna Wood, Jordon Fields, Jacob (Jane) Morley, Adam Morley, Stephen Morley; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews & cousins. A sister Pauline Delair predeceased him.

Bruce was born on June 24, 1938 in Lisbon NY, a son of the late Clifford & Beaulah (Lalone) Wood. He graduated from Lisbon Central School and later married Phyllis Reynolds on June 28, 1958. During his career he owned and operated a dairy farm, was town justice, drove school bus, worked for the Lisbon Highway Department, and was a member of the Lisbon volunteer fire department also serving as chief at one time. He also was on the board of the Lisbon Museum and then worked for the community bus line for Roethel’s.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, keeping his home and lawn immaculate, watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time with his family and friends.
