Beulah Meloche, age 113 passed away on Tuesday (October 27, 2020) at the United Helpers Nursing Home in Ogdensburg. She will be buried at the Green Mountain Cemetery in White Hall, NY. Arrangement are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Ms. Meloche was born on November 23, 1906 in Chazy NY, a daughter of the late Nelson & Mary Elizabeth (Gilman) Barnaby. She grew up in Plattsburgh and later moved to Lisbon where she lived with O’Brian family for 10 years. At age 104 she then moved into the United Helpers Riverledge Nursing Home in Ogdensburg.
She grew up with three sisters Mabel, Edith and Matilda, but they have all predeceased her. Surviving are a niece Helen Bell of Watervliet, NY and a nephew Les Neddo of Clifton Park, NY.
Beulah first became the oldest person in New York State in November 2018, and captured the title of fifth oldest person in the United States prior to her death. Beulah will be remembered as a kind soul, and enjoyed being a caretaker for children.
