A Mass of Christian Burial for Miss Barbara Anne Dwyer, age 83 of Ogdensburg will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday (November 7, 2023) at Notre Dame Church with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Monday November 6, 2023 at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Miss Dwyer passed away on Sunday (October 29, 2023) at the St. Joseph’s Nursing Home with her sister Patty by her side.
Surviving is her brother William Dwyer of Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters Mary (Patrick) O’Brien of Port St. Lucie, FL, Patricia Dwyer Bell of Ogdensburg; nieces Mary (Andrew) Uniacke of Jacksonville FL, Kathleen (Peter) Strandes of Jacksonville, FL, Emily Costa of Somerset, MA, Sarah (David) O’Brien of East Aurora, NY; nephews James (Andry) O’Brien of Palm City, FL and Daniel O’Brien of Trumble, CT; a step-nephew Travis Bell of Ogdensburg; along with several great-nieces & nephews.
Miss Dwyer was predeceased by a sister-in-law Helen “Midge” Dwyer; and a brother-in-law Royce Timothy Bell.
She was born on October 6, 1940 in Amsterdam NY, a daughter of the late William L. & Mary Ellen (Gasser) Dwyer. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1959, and was considered to be the family historian. She was fond of her Irish Heritage and volunteered countless hours at St. Mary’s Cathedral, and enjoyed listening to music, singing, assembling puzzles, craft painting, walking, playing solitaire, watching sports and her favorite television programs. Faith and family were the most important things in her life.
