Wendell Lee Gregory

Wendell Lee Gregory, age 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior November 5, 2011.

He was born September 3, 1942, to Rev. Hermon Eston and Olga Maye (Smith) Gregory in Odessa. He graduated from Ector High School and worked over 30 years for Compressor Systems Inc. He was Baptist. Wendell loved life and was an eternal optimist. His kids and grandkids were his life. His love for them was immeasurable. He raised his kids with strength, grace and gave them every opportunity to succeed. In his early life he recorded music with “ Friends of Mind”. We love you so much Daddy and life will never be the same without you.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Dortha Lanelle Thomas, and Mary Ann Harvey, and his brother, Norman Dean Gregory.

He is survived by his daughter, Elaine Annelle Celander and husband, Lane; his son, Joshua Aaron Gregory and wife, Adria Bianca; his brother, Tommy Richard Gregory, all of Odessa; his grandchildren, Aaron Zeth Gregory, Joshua Austin Brown, Peyton Austin Gregory and Garrison Scott Gregory, and a host of other family members and friends.

There will be a family visitation from 7:00pm – 9:00pm Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral services are set for 10:00am Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Sherwood Baptist Church with Rev. Ivy Shelton officiating and Larry Koonce assisting. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home of Odessa.
