Troy Lofton Lovell

Troy Lofton Lovell, Age 78, passed away on March 16th, 2017. He was born August 6th, 1938 in Bogota, TX Troy served his country in the U.S. Army. He then with a very strong work ethic went to work for Gates Rubber Co. and later became manager of Austin Distributing of Odessa, until he retired in 2004. Troy enjoyed his yearly trips with his brother John to East Texas & Arkansas to attend their school reunions and to visit with family and friends. He enjoyed weight lifting, keeping his yard well-manicured, and having a cold beer with his friends on the patio. He was quick witted and always had a joke to tell. He was a husband; father, brother, papa, and a great friend to many. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lilly Lovell of the home, brother, John Lovell & wife Pat of Grand Prairie, TX, niece, Stacy Corley of Grand Prairie. Daughter, Melinda Suggs & husband JJ Garza of Sunnyvale, TX, son, Troy Lovell Jr., daughters, Leslee Lovell, Jamie Dawson & husband Tye, sons, Tray Dix & wife Nicole, Jason Dix & wife, Christine, daughter, Greta Shipman all of Odessa. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Troy was preceded in death by his father, Henry Clark Lovell and his mother, Jewel McDonald Lovell. A memorial service celebrating Troy’s life will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, March 20, 2017 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
