Tommy Wayne "TomCat" Sawyer, 48, of Odessa, Tx left this world on February 22, 2016. He was born October 6, 1967 in Winslow, Arizona to Benny James Sawyer and Joanne Lorraine Howe Sawyer. He was the youngest of his siblings, sisters Lynne Sawyer Cobb and Gail Sawyer Buehler. His childhood was filled with travels around the country and around the world. He graduated from High school in Kermit, Texas in 1987 and immediately went to work in the oil and gas industry. He began his employment with what would eventually become Anadarko Petroleum in 1988. Over the years, gaining experience and knowledge, Tom became a respected and revered expert on all things gas. He held his position through various corporate aquisitions never changing jobs. He was as steady as a rock where it came to his job and he took great pride in that.
Tommy was also an avid drag racer and collector of cars. He had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and loved to ride. He could always be found in his shop tinkering with his many toys. He was always a friend to those in need. In his life, he was a lot of things: a son, a brother, a husband, an uncle and a true friend to many but nothing gave him more pleasure than his role as a father to his sons Bryce and Brett.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Benny James Sawyer and Joanne Lorraine Howe Sawyer. Survivors include his sons Bryce and Brett Sawyer of Brownwood, Cristi Peterman along with Carlee and Lane Lewis of Odessa, sisters Lynne Cobb and Gail Buehler of Athens, nephews Tyler and Nicholas Cobb of Athens, niece Amanda Buehler of Katy and countless friends who loved him dearly.
