Our Beloved Mother and Grandmother Sylvia Russell Pierce, was met in Our Heavenly Kingdom by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and The Love of Her Life Mr. Dan W. Pierce. Ms. Pierce at the age of 60 years passed away at Regency Medical Center Hospital here in Odessa, on Friday August 20, 2010. She was born June 12, 1950 in Durant, Oklahoma to Leon Frank Russell and Evelyn Russell. She married Mr. Dan Pierce December 2, 1966 in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico. He preceded her in death after 43 years of marriage; also preceding her in death is her Father: Leon Frank Russell. She was a Christian, and dedicated more than 30 years of waitressing in the restaurant industry here in Odessa. She was a Wonderful and Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother but most of all a wonderful Friend that always Lent a helping hand to whom ever needed it with never expecting anything in return. Her smiles and excellent care to her family, friends and, her customers would brighten the room. She will be greatly missed because of her endearing virtues, She will continue to remain in our hearts. She is survived by Mother: Evelyn M. St. John Russell of Odessa Daughters: Kimberly Sankowsky (Larry) of Kingsland, Tx; Kelly Pierce and Richard Journeay of Odessa, Tx; Sons: Dan “Doodle” Pierce; Archie Pierce; Adopted Son: Nicky Hubbard all from Odessa; Best Friend: Cheri Faulks of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Favorite Uncle and Aunt: Johnny and Rita St. John of Blue, Oklahoma. 6 Grandchildren: Dylan Pierce, Daniel Howard, Army Sankowsky, Kaylee Pierce, Cortney Journeay, and Katie Pierce, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. We the Pierce family would like to take this time and with a heartfelt embrace thank each everyone of you for all your prayers, floral, food offerings and especially your presence with us during this most difficult time, a special gratitude to all the staff, and Nurses on the 6th Floor of Regency Medical Center and her Dr`s. Kodi; PJ Patel; and K. Patel for all the wonderful loving care given to our beloved Mother and Grandmother, May God Bless You All Abundantly. Pallbearers will be Melvin Ball, Ricky Lawhon, Justin Journey, Jimmy Perkins, Jeremiah Vick, and Robert Brant. Services will be held at 2Pm today Tuesday August 24, 2010 at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Larry Hood officiating, Interment to follow at Ector County Cemetery Rosehill Section.
