Sylvia C. Aguirre age 62, of Odessa, Texas, passed away at home Monday January 21, 2019. She was born March 17, 1956 in Pecos, Texas to Luis Carrasco and Maria Guevara. Sylvia was a Christian Catholic and a welder at the Family Business. She married Roy Aguirre January 26, 1974 in Odessa, Texas. Sylvia is preceded in death by her loving parents. She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years Roy Aguirre of Odessa, cherished by her daughter Yvonne Tijerina and husband Juan of Murphy, Texas, two granddaughters Daniella Milton and husband Justin of Garland, Texas, and Ava Tijerina of Murphy, Texas, grandson Jonathan Tijerina of Murphy, Texas and great granddaughter Nevaeh Milton of Garland, Texas, sister Yolanda Esparza and husband Herby of Ft. Worth, Texas, and brother George Carrasco of Odessa, Texas. Sylvia also leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Sylvia was loved and cherished by many. She quickly made friends with whomever she met. She was also known by many as “Chivita” and “Bita”. The family would like to thank the staff and faculty of UTSW in Dallas, TX, the staff at Texas Oncology in Odessa, West Texas Gifts of Hope Organization, and the staff at Home Hospice who cared for her in her final days. The family would like to sincerely thank all who have sent prayers, condolences, food, and kind thoughts during this difficult time.
Visitation will be Friday January 25, 2019 from 9am-9pm with a rosary at 7pm at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors 4635 Oakwood Dr. Odessa, Texas 79761.
Funeral services are set for 10am Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church 2633 Conover Ave Odessa, Texas 79763, with Father Juan Cortez officiating.
Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery Odessa II section.
