Born in 1952, Sheila lived most of her life in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School in 1970. She married the love of her life, Bob Black, on February 7, 1995. Sheila loved to travel, play bunko with her friends and go to the lake. She especially loved her fur babies. Sheila had a heart of gold and a contagious sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around her. Sheila was deeply devoted to her family and cherished spending time with her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents Polly and Johnny Glidwell, and Joe Stewart, husband Bob Black and nephew Jason Stewart.
She is survived by her brother Mike Stewart and Kandy, sister Joann Owens and Jerry, daughters Toni McDaniel and Kayla Shirley and Shane. Grandchildren Bo McDaniel, Ty McDaniel and Vanessa, Bryson Shirley and Alexis Shirley. Great-grandchildren Jaxon, Aceton and Mavie McDaniel. Nieces Rebecca Pond and Coby, Michelle Robinson and Reggie, Kelly Stewart and nephew Justin Stewart and Brae'Lynn. Great-nieces Jerri Pond and Brooke, Kelsey Stewart, Ashley Stewart and Barry, Destiny Stewart, Azure Stewart and Brae Lee Stewart. Great-nephew Tim Pond and Shawna. Great-great nephew Kade Stewart and great-great niece Destiny Carter. Stepbrother James Glidwell and stepsisters Diana Beaver, Donna Leonard and Tammy Walker. Sheila is also survived by friends that became family, David and Stephanie Shaw, godson Bradley Bourke, fur-babies Barney and Roxie as well as a host of other good friends. Sheila's kindness, generosity, and warmth will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation with family will be held Thursday February 22, 2024, 6-8 p.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate Sheila's life will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. also at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Sheila's name.
