Sharon Lynn Guy

Our mother, Sharon Guy, was born in Brownfield, Texas, and raised in Odessa, Texas. She met our father Weldon Guy in 1955, and they were married in 1961. For 52 years her family was most important. She kept our home, prepared our meals and made a really good apple pie.

Our mother was at a loss after the passing of our father in 1996, until the arrival of her granddaughter in 1999, Heather Marie Hood, renewed her purpose. Heathers presence always put the biggest smile on moms face. She was proud of her family, her greatest accomplishment. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her two children, Craig Alan Guy of Houston and Gina Lynn Hood of Odessa; one much loved son in law, David Blake Hood of Odessa; one beloved granddaughter, Heather Marie Hood; one sister, Nancy Veatch; and one brother, David Steveson. She was preceded in death by her best friend and husband Weldon Guy and her brother Don Steveson.

Family visitation will be held from 12 Noon to 2:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2014, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
