He was born on September 21, 1943 to Jacob Allen Moore and Virginia Ellen Suggart Moore.
Allen grew up in Rankin, Texas and graduated from Rankin High School where he played football and was proud to be a Rankin Red Devil. He attended college at The University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966. He was then accepted to law school at South Texas College of Law where he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1968.
Allen moved to Odessa after graduating from law school and soon started his own law firm. Allen had a passion for helping people in need and he took on all kinds of cases through the years. He developed a special talent for helping people injured in the oilfields of West Texas, where he himself had worked to pay for college and law school. Allen practiced law in Odessa for over 40 years, until the time of his death.
Allen loved his family deeply, they were always the great passion of his life. They were the reason he worked so hard in his law practice, as he always wanted to be able to provide for all of his family and see them fulfill their dreams. He gave all that he had for them – and the occasional trip to Las Vegas.
Allen was preceded in death by his son, A. J. Moore, and by his parents, Judge Allen Moore and Virginia Moore.
Allen is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Shelly Moore; sons Kenneth Allen Moore of Odessa and Aaron Don Moore of Dallas; daughters Brenna Marie Moore of Austin and Megan Beth Moore of Montgomery, Alabama; brother, Jacob Moore and wife Nancy Reinert of Dripping Springs; sister, Ann Kessler of San Angelo; and a grandchild, Kendra Elizabeth Moore of San Angelo.
