Ricardo Lara "Ricky" Sanchez

Ricardo Lara. “Ricky” Sanchez, 65, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, July 02, 2013 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born April 25, 1948 in Alpine, TX to Miguel and Genoveva (Lara) Sanchez. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ruben Sanchez, and (2) sisters, Beatrice and Maria Sanchez.

He is survived by brothers, Armando Sanchez and wife Mary of Odessa, William “Bill” Sanchez and wife Carmen of Corpus Christi, Rudy Sanchez of Odessa, sisters, Yolanda Ruiz and husband Paul of Odessa, Lupe Hernandez and husband George of New Braunfels, Grace Villanueva and husband Carlos of Ft. Worth, Sindy Olivarez and husband Chinto of Round Rock, Ruby Orona and husband Jesse of Carrizo Springs, TX, paternal aunt, Leonarda Bustos of Odessa, maternal aunt, Mauricia Luna of Ft. Worth.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 05, 2013 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 06, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery, Peaceful Garden Section.

Pallbearers will be Adrian Cruz, Danny Olivarez. David Hernandez, Carlos Villanueva Jr., Nathan Sanchez, Ruben Alex Sanchez, Jesse Orona III, and Miguel Sanchez.

The family wishes to express special thanks to VA Hospitals in Big Spring and San Antonio, especially Dr. Fredrickson, and Rick Czarnecki, social worker, and our local providers here in Odessa.
