Ramon Gomez Salazar, 52, a beloved resident of Odessa, TX, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Known affectionately as Lil’ Ramon, DJ Fiestamix, Tio or Muncle Ramon, but to all, he was a cherished friend.
Born in Redford, TX, to the late Emma Gomez Salazar and Felix Salazar, Ramon was united in marriage to Magalee Bueno on December 5, 1993, sharing 30 years of love and companionship.
Ramon is lovingly remembered and survived by his devoted wife, Magalee Bueno. He leaves behind a lasting legacy through his children: Emmaly Salazar, Roel 'Romeo' Salazar, Auden Salazar, and Nayeli Salazar. Additionally, he is survived by his dear siblings, Lucy Salazar, Lilia Salazar, Rene Gomez Salazar, Artemisa Leyva, and Betty Ortega. Ramon's impact extends to the next generation as he is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Noah Ace Lopez and Ian Jace Lopez. His memory is further celebrated by his very close friends, Lizette and Cesar Bravo.
Ramon is preceded in death by his mother, Emma Gomez Salazar, his father, Felix Salazar, and his nephew, Rito Villalon.
The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, December 22, 2023 from 2-9 PM at Odessa Funeral Home with the Rosary at 7 PM. A mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 9 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church followed by burial at American Heritage Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers include Noah Ace Lopez, while Roel Salazar, Auden Salazar, Remigio Leyva, Fabian Ortega, Francisco Lopez, and Cesar Bravo will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests considering a memorial donation in Ramon’s honor to Magalee Bueno, either directly or through the GoFundMe set up in remembrance of Ramon.
