Pedro Avila Marrero

Pedro Avila Marrero, age 95, of Odessa, Texas enter into heaven accompanied by the blessed Mother on March 27, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife of 72 years, Maria Martha Marrero, his children, and his grandchildren. Pedro was born on June 29, 1923 in Mexico to Manuel Marrero and Isabel Avila.

Those left to cherish his memory, his wife, Martha Marrero of Odessa; children, Maria Serrano, Raymond Marrero, Juan Marrero, Ernestina Castillo, Delia Aguilar, Florinda Garcia, Patricia Bejarano, Griselda Flores, Pedro Marrero Jr, Susan Munoz, and Michael Marrero all of Odessa; 1 sister, Fermina Guerrero of Mexico; 31grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Pedro “Pete” Serrano; granddaughters, Serena Bejarano and Maria Luisa Serrano; along with his parents. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Frank Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
