Paul "Papa" Ruiz

Paul “Papa” Ruiz, 75, a longtime resident of Odessa, Texas entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2017. He was born on April 29, 1942 to Tomas Ruiz and Antonia Cano in Fort, Stockton, Texas. He was a member of St. Anthony Parish and Knights of Columbus Council 10404 in Odessa, Texas. He enjoyed volunteering in the community, church activities, fishing, hunting, building things, golfing, woodworking, and gardening.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Yolanda Ruiz, his seven children Michael Cruz and wife Teresa, Paul Ruiz and wife Cynthia, Albert Cruz and Christan, Rocio Peralez and husband Albert, Melba Rios and husband Anthony, Candida Saenz and husband Omar, and Adrian Ramsey Cruz; two sisters, Candida Kelly and husband Charles, and Dominga Molinar; four brothers, Jay Ruiz and wife Aurora, Ernesto Ruiz and wife Manuela, Eugene Ruiz and wife Elodia and Noe Ruiz. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Rene Ruiz, three brothers Richard, Tom, and Saul Ruiz, and one sister Felicita Subia.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors from 1:00-9:00p.m. a Rosary will be recited at 7:00p.m. Mass will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 10:00a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus Council 10404 Odessa, Texas. Honorary Pallbearers are grandson’s Fabian and Dominic Nunez, Sebastian Cruz, Stephen Cruz, Mario Peralez, Brandon Sienz, Christopher, Michael, and Eric Ruiz. Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
