Mrs. Modrie T. Lebeau Walker was born February 4, 1939 in Ventress, LA to the late Wallace Lebeau and the late Christine Bridgewater. She was the oldest of eight children. She departed this earthly life on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 9:02 pm. in her home in Kingsland, TX.
Modrie worked as a private sitter and also at Lafon Nursing Home in New Orleans, La. where she retired. While in New Orleans, she attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church. In 2014, Modrie rededicated her life back to Christ one Sunday morning at Smoking for Jesus Ministry.
She was known for her love of cooking (Modrie loved to cook for those in the neighborhood), baking, dancing, and a smile that could brighten any room.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Walker, her parents, 5 siblings, William Paul Lebeau, Joseph Lebeau, Rita Mae Brue, Emma Lee Nelson, Shirley Ann Lebeau, and 2 children, Cynthia Vigne and Arnold (Boy) Vigne, Jr.
Modrie leaves to cherish her memories 2 siblings, Willie John Lebeau and Betty Lou Ridgley, 7 children, Donna Vigne, Bradley Vigne, Jerome Vigne (Sharon), Mark Vigne (Minnie), Christine Legier (Minister Erin), Christy Vigne, and Helena Lebeau, 33 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Smoking for Jesus Ministry. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM . Burial will follow at Lakeland Hills Cemetery in Burnet, Texas. Repass @ Marble Falls Church of Christ, 711 Broadway, Marble Falls, TX 78654.
