Mary Orozco Walters, 93, daughter of the late Rita Parra and Ezekiel Orozco and wife of the late Loy Austo Walters of Odessa, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Midland Memorial Hospital.
A native of Clint, Texas, and later of El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Walters and her late husband moved to Odessa in 1958. Mrs. Walters thoroughly enjoyed visits from her family and friends – all of whom loved her dearly.
Mrs. Walters is survived by sons, Loy Austo (Sonny) Walters and his wife, Loretta; Martin Walters and his wife Karen of Odessa, TX, Jerry Walters of Austin, TX; daughters, Myrtle Ann Erwin and her husband Gerald Erwin of Midland, TX; and Patricia Walters Kirk and her husband James Kirk of Heath, TX; nine grandchildren, Clay Erwin, Paige McPherson of Midland, TX;Travis Walters, Vanessa Walters, Michael Walters, Ginger Fraiser, Tosha Granberry of Odessa, TX;Traci Walters of Austin, TX;, Natalie Walters of San Antonio, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Katie Erwin, Claire McPherson, Ashlynn McPherson, Kenley McPherson, Kirsten Fraiser, Zoe Frasier, and Zarinatie Kinley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and “adopted” daughter, Carole Rey.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Walters was predeceased by her brother, Manuel Orozco; sisters, Paz Morris, Estella Valdez Hamilton, and Ruth (Cuca) Strange.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Joseph Uecker officiating. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November29, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Ysleta, Texas.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, Odessa, TX.
