Maria Margarita Sanchez

Maria Margarita Sanchez, 62, of Canyon, TX passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born March 11, 1952 in Odessa to Jose & Felipa (Cardenas) Rodriguez. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic faith. She is preceded in death by her father, Jose Rodriguez & brother, Eloy Rodriguez. She is survived by her mother, Felipa C. Rodriguez of Odessa, husband, USAF MSgt Ret. Ruben Sanchez of Canyon, TX, sons, Sgt. 1st Class Miguel Sanchez & wife Tara of Ft. Stewart, GA, Matthew Sanchez, FNP & wife Crystal of Odessa, daughter, Romi Sanchez of Amarillo, brothers, Ramon Rodriguez of Odessa, Joe Luis Rodriguez & wife Margie of San Angelo, Anthony Rodriguez of Odessa, sisters, Monica Pompa & husband Jose of Odessa, Elizabeth Salgado & husband Javier of Odessa, (5) grandchildren, Blake Ellison, Antonio Sanchez, Grace Sanchez, Nick Sanchez, Jace Elias Sanchez, & several nieces & nephews.

Maria loved spending time with family, raising her children, and traveling the world. She loved admiring the Northern Lights in Alaska when she lived there, and enjoyed fishing trips to Seward, Alaska and Kluane Lake. In her younger days, she sang with the church and the Up With People Group. She was also involved with the ROTC at Odessa High School.

Maria Salgado will recite the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating.
