Lydia S. Rodriguez, age 76, was born July 13th, 1946, in Pleasanton, Texas to the late Maxine and Jerry Salazar. She transitioned to heaven on October 6, 2022 in Odessa, Texas. She was married to her first and only love, Larry Rodriguez on December 8th, 1962. She was a daughter, sister, wife, Mom, and Momo.
Lydia was a homemaker and hairdresser for over 33 years. She was a member of the Lioness Club with Odessa Basin Lions Club and the Lady Alter Rosary Society. She was a beautiful soul and met many friends wherever she went. She loved her Odessa High School Bronchos and was always ready to show off her red. She loved music, particularly Elvis, Selena, and all things Tejano. She was proud of her Latina culture and background. She loved her some Big Red soda and was always ready for a trip to San Antonio. She loved to shop all day long and was known for her many closets of clothes and shoes. She will always be remembered for being classy, a loving mom and Momo, and that sparkle in her eyes that never faded.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Maxine and Jerry Salazar, her husband, Larry Rodriguez, her son, Larry Ronald Rodriguez, and son in law, Jorge Holguin.
She is survived by sister, Julia Cole, her brother, Jerry Salazar and wife Velma, daughters, LaDawn Jamierson and husband Clayton, LaKrisha Rodriguez, and Lindsey Rodriguez. Grandchildren- Lacee Perry and husband Donta, Justeen Flores and wife Vanessa, Alec Rodriguez, Cameron Rodriguez, Amerikah Holguin, Kinzee Jamierson, Ammorie Rodriguez, and Amerson Rodriguez. Lastly, one great grandchild Charlee Perry.
Funeral services entrusted to Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home. Services are as follows: Monday, October 10th, visitation from 5-7PM with rosary to follow. Celebration of life mass will be at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 11th at 1PM. Burial to follow at Ector County Rose Hill Cemetery.
