Louise McCarley Irwin, a bright and beautiful light left this world on October 5, 2014 and now radiantly shines in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ.
Louise was born September 8, 1925 in Andrews, Texas the 5th of 6 children in the large and loving McCarley clan. Louise married Knox Hunter Irwin, Jr on August 7, 1945 and had one son Phillip Eugene Irwin. Louise and Knox moved to Odessa in 1951 and became faithful members of First Baptist Church. She was one of a few honored as a sustainer emeritus member of the Junior League of Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her husband Knox on September 9, 1993, her parents Al & Lila McCarley, her brother A. W. McCarley, sisters Connie Underwood, Faye Dement & Grace Dowlen.
Louise is survived by her son Phil, her sister and brother-in-law Ruby and Gordon Walker, many nieces, nephews, cousins, her church family, a host of friends, her sweet girls and Lulu.
Louise’s light was unique in this world, and those who knew her know that words to describe her charisma simply do not exist. She loved fiercely and faithfully and had a gift to make everyone she met feel uniquely important. She will be greatly missed.

Louise will lie in state Tuesday October 7, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Andrews County Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Brewer officiating.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Music Ministry.
