Leroy Shelton

Leroy was born August 2, 1957 in Odessa, TX to Carl and Norma Shelton. He was the second youngest of eight children. Leroy spent all of his youth in Odessa, and moved to Lubbock in 1977. Shortly after moving, he met the love of his life, Yvonne White, by accident.

Yvonne and Leroy were married and had three children, Adrian, Marisha, and LeAlex. Leroy was an excellent father and was adamant about how his children were raised. He wanted the best for them, and for them to be the best. Every lesson taught had love behind it, and he exercised his faith to the benefit of his family.

Leroy was the best diesel mechanic in Lubbock, Texas. He not only did superior work, it was fun to him. Through his love of everyday life, Leroy had acquired a vast group of friends who he loved dearly. He was excellent on the BBQ pit, and had a love of sports, especially wrestling and Dallas Cowboy Football. The love Leroy shared for life and his faith will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parent and sisters, Elvie May and Emma.

Leroy is survived by his wife, Yvonne, of 45 years; children, Adrian, Marisha, and LeAlex; grandchildren, Jesse, Kevone, Monica, Malachi, Tyrita, Zabre; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Jurline, Irma Jean, Mary, Carl, Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Leroy will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 N Alleghaney Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 701 Wabash Ave, Odessa, TX. A committal service will occur Friday, March 8, 2024 at 3:00 PM at American Heritage Cemetery, 4100 FM 1788, Midland, Texas 79707.
