Joey Vejil Peña, 62, of Odessa, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 while in the care of his loving brother.
He was born on October 29, 1953 in Pecos, Texas to Jose Quintana Peña and Virginia Vejil Peña.
He was a God-fearing, Catholic man that worked as a machinist in the oilfield industry after obtaining his associate's degree in diesel mechanics. He was an avid reader, gun and knife collector, huge Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving daughters: Monica Marie and husband, Jamie Nevarez, of Odessa, Texas, Patricia Rae Gonzales of Odessa, Texas and Joie Ann and husband, Carlos Rivera, of Dallas, Texas: Brother, Fidel Vejil Peña and wife, Lucy, of Odessa, Texas. He was blessed with eleven grandchildren, along with an abundance of many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
We, the family, would like to take the time to express our utmost sincere gratitude and appreciation to each and every one of you for all of your prayers, floral arrangements, food offerings and especially for your presence with us during this difficult time. May God bless you all bountifully. His family and friends will have the honor of being his pallbearers.
A rosary was recited on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated today, Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 10 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. At the family's request, an inurnment service will be held privately, at a later date
