Jimmy Paul Robertson, 80, of Goldsmith, TX formerly of Amarillo, passed into his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 29, 1932 in Wichita Falls, TX and was adopted at age 4 by Dessie & Paul Robertson. He attended Morton, TX schools and in high school excelled in band, basketball & track. He was on the National Honor Society and in the Junior Play Cast. He received his BA Degree in Science at the University of Texas in Austin, and his Masters Degree in Education at Texas Tech in Lubbock. He served state side in the Army as a dental tech.
Jimmy taught Jr. High and High School Science for 33 years at schools in Littlefield, River Road and the Amarillo School System. He married his high school sweetheart Elizabeth Wall in 2005 in Canyon, TX & moved to Goldsmith where he resided until his death.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sons, Jimmy Paul Robertson Jr, & John Charles Robertson, brother, Bobby Robertson, (4) birth brothers & (4) birth sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Robertson of Goldsmith, (4) daughters, Susan Taylor & husband Gary of Amarillo, Jan Turner & husband Tom of Luther, MI, Tanya Read & husband Terry of Harrisonville, MO, Gay Dawn Kennedy & husband Mike of Goldsmith, TX, (2) sons, Monty Oglesby & wife Lynn of Goldsmith, Terry Oglesby & wife Dana of Odessa, TX, sisters, Shirley Baker of Bryan, TX, Diane Barnett & husband Charlie of Boerne, TX, (21) grandchildren & (43) great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation Thursday, April 18, 2013 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo, TX with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
