He was born June 29, 1936 to Truman Lee Brooks and Opal Cynthia (McGee) Brooks in Borger, Texas.
He was a member of First Baptist Church. He served two years in the Marine Reserve. He was an insurance agent for Allstate.
He is survived by his wife Jane Brooks of Odessa, daughters, Joni Topper and husband Ernest of Johnson City, Texas, Becky Henson and husband Keith of Ardmore, OK., Gloria Sheehan and husband Terry of Odessa, eight grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Ernest Topper, Curtis Brewer and Dr. Byron McWilliams officiating.
