J. R. Turner

J.R. served in the Air Force and participated in the Berlin Air Lift.

He worked for Sharp Drilling Company for many years, and Champion Petroleum. He owned and operated Universal Pump and Falcon Hot Shot Trucking before retiring in 1996. He enjoyed doing volunteer work.

He was preceded in death by parents, daughter, Patricia Turner Stepson, Tommy Sissel, brothers, Bobby Turner and Harold Turner.

He is survived by his wife, Patty, sons, Mike Turner and wife Verla of Gardendale, Jeff Turner and wife Cheryl of Great Falls, Montana, daughters, Pam Williams and husband Mike of Midland, Kathy Jacobsen and husband Jim of Dewitt, Iowa, Teri Regalado and husband Johnny of Odessa, sisters, Marie Venechanas of California, Mildred Rider, and Elizabeth Norman and husband Billy Jack of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at Westover Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Wright officiating. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Wewoka, Oklahoma at the Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorial may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
