He loved baseball and was very good at it, especially as he played for Odessa High School. Ismael graduated from OHS in 1986 and went on to serve in the US Army. He returned to Odessa after his service and remained here throughout his life.
Ismael is survived by his mother, Ermelinda Valenzuela; sister, Carol V. Porras and husband Daniel; wife, Marisol Valenzuela; children, Alexa Valenzuela, Annalaynna (Nicole) Valenzuela, and Christopher Valenzuela; grandchildren, Saylor and Sutton Pierce; and nieces and nephews, Isabell & Alyssa Porras, Daniel Porras and Eric Valenzuela.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ismael Valenzuela.
Public viewing will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 9 AM-9 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
