Hoot was one of the first people I talked to when I started working with OXY as a vendor. He was a fantastic person that was always willing to help and give assistance. My favorite story is one day I was having issues with some tickets and he asked me to email them to him. After several failed attempts at emailing I printed the copies and went to see him. When I told him of the issue he got the biggest grin on his face and then told me his first name that was his email address. If all company men were like him the oilfield would be a better place. HIs wisdom will be missed. He is in a better place but the hurt in your heart is real and present. I am praying for the Adams family for their loss.

Hoot will truly be missed. I enjoyed our sarcastic conversations and no matter what time of the day it was he would ask "is it quitting time yet"? It was truly my pleasure getting to work with Hoot.

Hoot was an amazing man who was always willing to help. He was very easy to talk to and taught me so much. There will never be another individual like Hoot. He will be deeply missed, but the impact he had on myself and everybody else will not be forgotten. Rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Hoot Adams, his knowlede & willingness to give a helping hand when asked will be very missed. After being transfered to a new area & not knowing anybody, Hoot made me feel that I have know him forever.Never forget!!! Bubba

Hoot was a man I admired. He was not just a boss, he was a friend. A sort of father figure to me, showing me the ropes at work and life. He will be greatly missed, I am thankful for the time I had with him, and will take the lessons he taught me on my journey ahead. Gone but not forgotten.

Hoot and I were always talking fishing at work. I liked to fly fish and he favored the spinner rods. He was never one to outright brag about a catch, but it was great to listen to his big catches and carry on about something we both liked to do.

To sum up what Hoot meant to me in this space cannot be done. 
He was a co worker, mentor, sounding board but most of all friend. He was a walking encyclopedia of oil filed knowledge. He was always there when I needed advice or we had a well problem. 
I already have missed the friendly banter and name calling we did daily. Some did not understand us. A favorite story was when Hoot and I were exchanging colorful names and comments to each other. A salesman in the office unfamiliar with us asked if those two guys were going to fight.  HA! 
One time Hooter was running tools for me. We had three fishing and packer jobs on different rigs in the same field. I watched all day the dust trail left by his pickup as he raced between jobs to keep things going. The next day I put a Superman sticker on his  pickup truck and gave him a small one for his hard hat. I told himI don't know how we will fill the hole he left in our hearts. But I can imagine him up on Heaven's rig floor. Teasing the crew and working his magic.
