Harriett Mitchell Berlin, age 86, passed into her Heavenly Fathers arms on January 16, 2025, after a long fight with Alzheimer’s.
Harriett was born on December 3,1938 in Kermit, Texas. She lived in West Texas all her life. Her Father worked for Sinclair Oil Company and for years they lived at the Sinclair Oil Camp west of Odessa, Texas. She was the oldest of four girls. She attended Odessa High School but graduated from Midland High School in 1957 after her family moved.
She was fortunate to meet and marry the love of her life, early on in her life, they were high school sweethearts. She married our father Charles A. Berlin in 1958. They were married for 62 years and raised four children together, he preceded her in death in 2020.
She was active in the community and her church. She worked at Sinclair Oil Company, at several car dealerships as a title clerk, as well as at the bank before retiring. She had a beautiful voice and faithfully sang in her church choir for years and volunteered for praise worship at other churches and events with her sisters. When she retired, they spent time traveling with their family and she volunteered at First United Methodist Church. She participated in the Methodist Women’s Study Club and was a past president and treasurer of Texas Federation of Women’s Club as well as the secretary and treasurer for the Bloys RV Camp.
She dedicated her life to her family and friends. She was a wonderful Sister, Wife, Mother, and Nana (Silly Nana) to her grandchildren!
Harriett is survived by her large loving family who are blessed to have had her for 86 wonderful years! Her children, Charles Allan Berlin (William) of Castroville, Tx., and Darrell W.
