Harold “H C” Tucker, 94, died peacefully Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Baptist Hospice in San Angelo, Texas following a short illness.
He leaves his wife of 70 years, Mary R (Underwood) Tucker; his sons, Gary D Tucker of Colorado and Randall W Tucker of Odessa, TX; his daughter, Cynthia K Tucker of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Craig Owens of California, Jamison M Tucker of Houston, TX, Emily Tucker currently living in Australia, Shelby (Tucker) Anderson of San Antonio, TX, and Seth R Tucker of San Angelo, TX; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, S. Dwane Tucker of Odessa, TX, Gerald D. Tucker of Tyler, TX and H. Clive Tucker of Longview, TX.
Born and raised close to Mineola, TX, the son of Uriah Taylor and Vera Tucker, he was a longtime resident of Odessa, TX, and founding owner of Dixie Electric in 1951, retiring in December 2007. Mr. Tucker operated a small quarter horse ranch in West Odessa as a hobby for many years.
Mr. Tucker was a World War II veteran honorably discharged in 1946, after serving in Germany as a member of the United States Army.
Both he and his wife were members of the First Baptist Church of Odessa, TX.
Family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, J. Craig Owens, Jamison M Tucker, Seth R Tucker; grandson-in-law Kenneth Anderson, III; and family friends, Sid Norton and John Murphy.
