He was born October 26, 1949 in Odessa to Emeterio & Lasara Cortez. He was a supervisor at Odessa College for 38 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jimmy & Locario Cortez, sisters, Mary Galvan, Paula Marquez, Angie Alvarado & Rico Soltero.
He is survived by his lifetime companion & light of his life, Patsy Mancha, his children, Veronica Cortez, Evaristo Cortez, Jr. & Priscilla Aguilar all of Odessa, sister, Yolanda Hernandez of Odessa, brothers, Mike, & Johnny Cortez all of Odessa, (7) grandchildren, & (2) great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be said at 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 11 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 12 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Fernando Bonilla officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery.
