Born May 15, 1926 in Fisher County, Texas, to the late Homer and Minnie Robertson, Dorothy was the youngest of 9 children. Resident of Odessa for a majority of her life, she married Woodrow “Woody” Duke in 1949 and had two children, David and Rebecca. After Woody’s death in 1964, Dorothy married Bill Clay in 1965 who also had two children, Keith and Kris.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bill Clay; David Duke and his wife, Georgie Duke of Georgetown, Texas; Rebecca “Becky” Land and her husband Larry Land of Georgetown, Texas; Keith Clay and his wife Ann of Aurora, Colorado; Kris Dominey and her husband Mike of Denton, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Dorothy took great pleasure in her career in retail in Odessa, including Berryhill’s Clothing, Model Shop as well as other dress shops around town. She happily worked for 40 years selling women and children’s clothing. Also, an avid baker and cook, she often brought together friends and family over a slice of pie and coffee. Being a woman of faith, Dorothy and her husband Bill were members of Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years before moving to Georgetown in 2007 to be closer to family.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 24, at 3:00pm in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home located at 4635 Oakwood Drive, Odessa, Texas. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. In lieu of flowers please contribute to St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church 1415 N Grandview Ave Odessa, Texas 79761 in her name.
