On the afternoon of Friday March 29, 2013, Daniel Ortiz was called to be with the Lord. Daniel was born on July 30, 1991 in Odessa,
Texas at Medical Center Hospital. He lived in Odessa all of his life and was a graduate of Odessa High School in 2009. Daniel had
two passions in this world, his sons Ayden Allstin Ortiz and Dominic Avan Ortiz, they meant the world to him, he lived his life making
sure they were loved and were cared for in the best possible way.
When he was not spending time with his sons he played basketball, worked on his car and he had a passion for knowing how things
worked. He spent hours taking things apart and assembling them back together. There was never a dull time in his house, he was
always playing a joke or dancing like the whole world was watching. Then there were the times he spent with Anita, his wife and his
love; going to the movies, playing video games, or just sitting together and talking while the kids played at their feet.
Daniel had many friends, and he was loved by all, but there were three that he could call anytime for anything, Edward Ramirez,
Nathaniel Guzman and Brian McAfee. For those of us who had the privilege to know Daniel, we knew of his love, his light-hearted
spirit, and his kindness toward friend and family alike.
Daniel is preceded in death by his grandmother Carol Corbitt, whom he loved and adored until her passing earlier this year. He is
survived by his wife, Anita Ortiz and their two boys, Ayden Ortiz and Dominic Ortiz of Odessa. His mother Terri Pettis of Odessa, two
brothers, Justin Pettis of Odessa, Texas and Nick Pettis of Colombia, Tennessee, and two Aunts Jonnie Pettis and Vikki Volz, both
of Odessa, and an uncle Chris Volz of Odessa. Daniel also had two cousins that were closer to him than anybody could be, Darryl
Stevens and Gage Pettis.
Public visitation will be held from 8am to 9pm today with a Family Gathering with Friends at Odessa Funeral Home. Services will be
held at 10am Friday April 5,2013 at Odessa Funeral Home with Reverend: Jimmy Braswell officiating , Interment to follow at Ector
County Cemetey the Peaceful Garden Section.
