Chris was born and raised in Odessa, Texas. He came to live in Abilene in 2013 to live near his parents and sister who had moved to Abilene in 2012. From his birth on November 15, 1989 and even into death, Chris was greatly loved by all his family. Everyone wanted to love on and spoil him as he was the first child and grandchild and he brought us all such great joy. He loved to go on adventures with his Mamaw and to the lake with his Nanny and Papaw every chance he got. He also enjoyed spending time at Papaw Bill and Grandma Barb’s house. Chris was part of a very close knit family so all holidays and birthdays were spent with them making wonderful memories. He had a special bond with his cousins, especially, Ryan. They were the best of buds and were always up to something, mostly having fun and being boys. His aunt and uncles doted on Chris like he was their own child. Chris and sister Kaitlyn were very close, especially as they got older. No matter what the situation they were always there to love and support each other. Chris loved playing sports. He played on many OYBA teams and also played basketball while attending Permian Basin Christian School and Crockett Junior High. Chris had many good friends as he grew up and even though everyone went their separate ways he knew who his “true” friends were and valued those friendships. Chris always seemed to have an easy time making friends wherever he went to school, worked, or lived. Chris never judged anyone. He knew that all people, just like him, had things in their life that no one knew about or understood. After high school, Chris worked in the cell tower industry and in the oilfield with his Papaw Bill and Uncle William. He most recently worked as a deliver driver in Abilene while trying to improve his education so he could work in the wind turbine industry like his dad or as a postman. While our hearts are broken, we his family and friends, know that Chris is in a better place. He lived only a short time on this earth but brought so much happiness and left cherished memories for those who loved him. Chris was dating a wonderful girl, Megan, who encouraged and loved Chris for who he was no matter what. Chris knew love and gave love so for that we are grateful. We thank you Lord for giving us our son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend and thank you for allowing him to return to your loving arms until we meet again in Heaven.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents: Kim and Gayland Blaylock, sister: Kaitlyn Blaylock, Grandparents: Karen and Don Harris, Bill Adams, and Frances Blaylock, Aunts: Julie Gentis and husband Ross, and Shauna McGlothin, Uncles: Williams Adams and wife Julie, Tony Campbell and wife Misti, Curtis Campbell and wife Robbie, Cousins: Ryan, Lauren, Austin, Victoria, Jake, Sean, Toby, Amanda, Dacota, Jaime, Nikki and Billy, and special family/friends: the Bradleys.
