Charles King Babcock

Charles King Babcock, 77, a longtime resident of Odessa passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014. He was born January 6, 1937 in Hickman, KY. He owned and operated Babcock Roofing Company for many years. He married Elizabeth (Liz) Hartley December 13, 1966 in Odessa, she preceded him in death on August 11, 2011, he is also preceded in death by his parents, Louis & Janie Babcock, (2) brothers, L. P. & Leland Babcock & sister, Bonnie Smith.

Charles really loved the outdoors and especially fishing. He was an awesome dad and papa. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Barry Babcock & wife Stacy of Midland; daughters, Sharon Dorsey & husband Steve of Odessa, Kimberlee Moore & husband Randy of Odessa; (2) brothers, Richard Babcock & wife Betty of Odessa, Robert Babcock of Odessa; (12) grandchildren; Kristi Spenser, Lisa Gipson, Randall Moore, Stephanie Orona, Skye Moore, Tiffany McCollum, Sarah Paul, Austin Dorsey, Charles, Dorsey, Braunwaun Burkholder, Ceelie Hetzel, & Jade Babcock; (16) great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

A visitation with friends & family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, December 19, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wally Schiwart officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
