Carmen Paredez Lara, 89, of Goldsmith, passed away on May 6, 2021 in Odessa. She was born in Big Spring on September 1, 1931 to the late Benito Paredez and Antolina Chavez Paredez. Carmen married Biente Marin Lara on August 7, 1948 in Big Spring. They were married for 56 years.
Carmen worked as an elevator operator at Hotel Settles and as a cafeteria worker at Goldsmith Elementary. She loved spoiling her grandkids, cooking for them and always making them feel special. Her favorite things to do was going camping with any of her family that would tag along. Her self-indulgence was watching soap operas in both English and Spanish.
Carmen is survived by her daughters: Juanita Holtzclaw of Monahans and Ester Bradly and husband Dickie of Goldsmith; grandkids: Jeff & Robyn Holtzclaw, Robin & Kevin Crawford of Monahans, Gretchen & Kevin Imming of Fort Worth, Todd & LaChelle Bradley of Giddings, Roy Bradley of Goldsmith, Reid Bradley of Odessa, Emily Stern of Goldsmith, and Ellie Montoya of Goldsmith; great grandkids: Chrisitan, Alyssa, Nick, Kayleigh, Courtney, Katelynn, Dylan, Andrew, Evan, Reid, Ashley, Brody, Jhett, Max, Cherry, Lily, Jack, Ryan, Oliver, Skylar, Caleb; and one great-great grandchild, Caden.
She is preceded in death by her spouse: Bicente Lara; daughters: Belen Lara and Delores Lara; son: Benny Lara; parents; son-in-law: Larry Holtzclaw; grandson: Erik Montaya; and her brothers and sisters.
A graveside inurnment will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Jeff Holtzclaw, Todd Bradley, Roy Bradley and Reid Bradley are honorary pallbearers.
