Alonzo J. “Coni” Lujan, age 61, of Odessa, passed from this life at his residence surrounded by his loving wife, Alicia and his children, on Tuesday March 5, 2019. He was born in Fort Stockton, Texas on March 24, 1957 to Manuel Alvarado and Juanita Jaquez Lujan. He was raised in Fort Stockton.
Later in life he moved to Odessa, Texas where he met his wife, Alicia and made Odessa his home to raise a family of their own.
He was employed in the oilfield in the Permian Basin and Over Seas/Offshore for over thirty years. Alonzo graduated from Ft. Stockton High School. He also completed the Police Academy #20 Class, in 1992 at Odessa College. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Alonzo was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend who will be greatly missed but will remain forever in our hearts. His hobbies included: fishing and camping. He enjoyed attending classic car shows and family gathering with a barbecue. He loved to watch Nascar, western movies and the 49ers. He also enjoyed going to Las Vegas Casinos.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his loving wife of 35 years: Alicia Ramirez Lujan, of Odessa; sons: Eddie Alonzo Lujan and wife, Noemi of Odessa, Texas; Michael Lujan and wife, Lillie of Burnett, Texas and daughters; Samantha Ramirez of Chula Vista, CA; Stephanie Subia and husband, Tony Subia of Odessa, Texas, Erica Luna and husband, Bobby Luna of Odessa, Texas, Laura Falcon and husband, Hervey Falcon of Midland, Texas and a Beloved niece, Nikki Chavez and husband, Daniel Chavez of Odessa, Texas. He also has twelve grandchildren which he loved dearly. He enjoyed sharing with them funny jokes and teaching them a trade; three brothers; Angel Lujan and wife, Anna of Odessa, Texas; Hugo Lujan and wife Norma of Ft. Stockton, Texas and Jose Lujan and wife, Monica of San Angelo, Texas; five sisters: Rose Mary Pena of Big Lake, Texas; Virginia Ortiz and husband, Joe of Fort Stockton, Texas; Donna Ontiveros and husband, Eusebio Jr. of Fort Stockton, Texas; Nellie Dominguez and husband, George of Fort Stockton, Texas; Silvia Hernandez and husband, Miguel of Lumberton, North Carolina; several aunts and uncles; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Alonzo is preceded in death by his parents; Manuel and Juanita Lujan; his paternal grandparents, Juan A. and Maria Lujan; his maternal grandparents, Alejo and Santos Jaquez; and his brothers, Albert Lujan, Jose Alex Lujan and the late Judge Freddie Lujan.
Serving as pallbearers are: Joe Ontiveros, Pete Ramirez, Mark Dominguez, Brandon Chavez, Joshua Lujan and Anthony Pollard Jr. Acting as Honorary pallbearers are: Nicholas Pollard, Bobby Luna Jr., Urijah Luna, Ed Lujan, Sebastian Falcon and Freddie Luna.
Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2019, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel, 1700 N. Jackson, Odessa, Texas 79761. Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm with the burial to follow at Odessa II Gardens section of Ector County Cemetery

The Family would also like to extend their thanks, to Doctor Gibbons whom Alonzo held high on his totem pole, and to all the Nurses who helped him along the way, you know who you are. Many Thanks also to everyone that phoned, sent texts, came out and brought food and especially stayed to visit with the family, you will never know just how much the exchange in human interaction has meant to the Family.
