Alfredo S. McGuire, loving husband, father, and grandfather age 93, of Odessa, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Alfredo was born May 18, 1929, in Marfa, Texas to the late Rebecca (Santana) and Cruz McGuire. He grew up with a strong work ethic while working on the family Dairy Farm. Alfredo later went on to work on the railroad and Texas Electric. He married Luz G. Martinez on June 8, 1952 in Las Cruces New Mexico. Shortly after settled in Odessa Texas. Alfredo was a dedicated member of Jehovah’s Witness.
He worked for Texas Electric as a heavy equipment operator for 33 years.
After retirement, he concentrated on preaching God’s word along with his wife as a Jehovah’s Witness. He was a devoted family man and loved his wife of 70 years Luz with all his heart, as well as his children and grandchildren. He loved retirement life working in his garden and tending to his chickens and goats. He also liked telling jokes as well as stories to any captive audience.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Luz of Odessa; six daughters, Ana Marie Miller and husband BJ Miller from Odessa, Maria Elena McGuire from San Antonio, Lucy Camacho from Amarillo, Yvonne McGuire Mata and husband Alvaro Mata from Odessa, Gracie McGuire Medlock and husband Dan Medlock from Odessa, Presilia Del Bosque and husband Ruben Del Bosque from San Antonio, and son Alfredo M McGuire and wife Andranee from Hutto Texas. And sister Leonora Richardson from Odessa; and 49 Grandchildren, 41 Great Grandchildren and 14 Great Great Grandchildren, his many nephews and nieces and friends and family that will miss him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Cruz McGuire, mother, Rebeca Santana, brothers; Cruz Jr McGuire, Able McGuire, Severiano McGuire, Edwardo McGuire, and George McGuire, Sisters; Maria Granado, Leonora S. McGuire, son-in-law Ralph Camacho, brother in law Gene Richardson and Great Great Granddaughter Karmi Villalabos.
The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 5-9 PM. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 10 AM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Words cannot describe the loving and caring husband, father, grandpa, and friend Alfredo was to all. He will be missed.
