Alfred Kenneth Roberts

Kenneth was born in Coleman, TX on April 4, 1940 to the late Alfred J. Roberts and Jessie Mae Roberts. He graduated from Valera High School where he was the “star” football and basketball player. He married the love of his life, Mrs. Fay Jackson Roberts on October 15, 1960; they were happily married for 63 years.

He worked as a pumper in the oilfield, first for Getty Oil and then Texaco, for 35 years, His hard work and dedication earned him his a gold hard hat. Kenneth shared a passion for horses, trail riding, hunting, fishing, traveling with his wife Fay, his two sons and grandchildren. He was actively involved in his church, Parkview Church of Christ, as well as an active member of many associations including the AQHA, NRA, North American Hunters Association and Ector County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse. Kenneth was a friend to all that met him, and would gladly give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. Kenneth was an avid wood worker whose lamp stands, gaming boards and other woodcrafts are treasured by all that have received them. He could sit for hours sharing tales of the glory days in Valera as well offer incite on quality horses, training and horsemanship. Kenneth also possessed great knowledge of firearms and enjoyed rebuilding old guns and reloading ammunition. Kenneth lived his life by a strong set of principals and his Christian values were evident in every aspect of his life. Kenneth left an impact on every life that he touched and he will be missed by all that knew him until the day we are all reunited with him again in paradise.

Kenneth is survived in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Fay Roberts; brother Will Roberts; son Kenneth Wayne Roberts and his wife Carla; Daughter in law Donna Roberts Geers and her husband Jackie; grandson Brandon Cody Roberts and his wife Beth, along with their children Harper, Maverick, Hadley and Ava; granddaughter Amanda Roberts Tankersley and her husband Josh; granddaughter Rebecca Roberts Chesney and her husband Gale, along with their children Liberty, Caleb, Isabell, Kaydin, Cameron and Seth; grandson Patrick Roberts and his wife Kasey, along with their children Cambrie, Brynlee and Audrey; grandson Matthew Roberts.

Kenneth is preceded in death by son Joe David Roberts, parents Alfred J. Roberts and Jessie Mae Roberts, brothers Milford Roberts and Doyle Roberts.

Honorary Pallbearers are Melvin Keith, Cody Roberts, Patrick Roberts, Joshua Tankersley, Jackie Geers, and Johnny Rodriguez.

In lieu of the flowers, the family request that donation be made to the Parkview Church of Christ in Odessa, TX.

The family wishes to thank Denny Wilson and the members of Parkview Church of Christ in Odessa, TX for all of their support, love and spiritual guidance.

A visitation for Alfred will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 N Alleghaney Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Parkview Church of Christ, 1700 Park Blvd, Odessa, Texas 79763.

Alfred will be laid to rest in Valera Cemetery, Valera, TX Monday, December 18, 2023 at 12:30PM.
