He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Catarina Ramirez and his sister Maria Antonia Longoria. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rosa, three daughters; Ercilia Short (Clay), Annette Gonzales, Adriana (Letty ); two sons; Alex (Christy),and Javier. Mr. Alex Ramirez also had 8 grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher and Brandon Short; Phillip and Adrian Gonzales, Sara Aleace Ramirez; Ariana and J.C. Ramirez; two great grandchildren; Kenzzi DeHay and Jace Gonzales; one brother Rene Ramirez (Julia). Many nephews and nieces; brothers and sisters in law, numerous friends. Alex served in the U.S. Army National Guard for three years, and retired from the Texas Railroad Commission in Midland. He loved to play sports and root for his favorite teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, San Antonio Spurs, Texas Tech Red Raiders as well as the Texas Longhorns. His favorite things to do were spending time with his family or watching old western movies. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Alex’s family would like to give a sincere thank you to Nurses Unlimited, Hospice House, Karen and Charles (transportation), Dr. JB Naidu, Candy and Christina and staff, Dr. Oliver, Karen Hooper and Staff and Dr. PK Khandelwal and staff. We wish to thank our friends for the flowers, food and all of their prayers.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Monday, Sept 15, 2014 at Frank W Wilson Funeral Directors; there will be a Rosary at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at St Elizabeth Ann Seton with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
