He graduated from Odessa High School and continued on to receive an Associate's Degree in Medical Technology at Odessa College. He married Dorothy Madrid on December 25, 1977; they were married for 48 years.
Albert worked as a Laboratory Medical Technologist at Odessa Regional Hospital for 43 years, where he retired in 2021.
Albert will be remembered most for his patience, kindness, wisdom, faith in God, and humble personality.
He was involved in giving donations to multiple charities, including donating blood at United Blood Services. In his profession, he witnessed the significance it provided in saving lives. His hobbies were working on the yard while he listened to Rock n' Roll and Tejano music. He loved photography, which he also studied at OC. He enjoyed taking photos of nature, landscapes, family and was a local photographer at weddings and quinceañeras.
He loved watching his kids play sports and continued that support with his grandkids, never missing a game or special event. He was a huge fan of The Beatles and loved watching Monday night WWE (wrestling). He was also a devout Christian with faith in God that inspired his kids and grandkids. He met his wife by being involved in the North Ranchito San Juan Catholic Church, as well as the Spanish Club at OC. He believed in family and was always there for his extended family members, including cousins, aunts and uncles who lived in Colorado and Devine, TX.
Albert is survived by his wife Dorothy Rizo. Children: Scotty Morris, Elizabeth Rizo, Kimberly Sanchez, and Jacob Rizo. Siblings: Johnny Rizo, Jesse Rizo, Paul Rizo, Raymond Rizo, Simona Orona, and Sandra Rizo. Grandchildren: Christian Morris, Karen Morris, Cody Morris, Mia Rizo, Sebastian Sanchez, Maximilian Sanchez, Hailee Rizo, and Audrina Rizo. He had many beloved nieces and nephews.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents, Rafaela and Juan Rizo, and son Albert "Betito," Junior Rizo.
Pallbearers are his sons Scotty and Jacob, with grandsons, Sebastian, Maximilian, Christian and Cody.
A visitation for Albert will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors, 4635 Oakwood Drive, Odessa, TX 79761. A second day visitation will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM with a rosary service will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Friday, April 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 7601 N Grandview Ave, Odessa, TX 79765 with a committal service & burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 6801 E, Odessa, TX 79762.
