Albert "Bert" Stephen Corich Jr., 81, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010, at his residence. He was born to Bert and Marie Corich on December 25, 1928 in Clayton, New Mexico where he would tell of the many adventures he had with his brothers and sisters. This is where he met his first wife, Jo Ann Jacobs; they were married on March 17, 1950. They had 41 wonderful years together, and had three children, Al, Sandy, and Jeff. He worked for B.F. Goodrich Tire Company as a manager for many years, and managed stores in Dalhart and Amarillo. His last place of employment, Bill Williams Tire Center, where he worked for 30 years, brought him to the Midland/Odessa area. He married his second wife, Genevieve Simonek, on July 4, 1992, and they had 18 loving years together. He considered her three daughters, Linda, Connie, and Sharon, to be his own. Bert was a proud Marine, a talented musician, involved in his beloved church, a loving, fun husband and father, the world's greatest granddad and so much more. He'll be greatly missed. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Genevieve; children: Al and Donna Corich, Mike and Sandy Vinyard, Jeff Corich, Connie and Bruce Pollard, and Sharon Brown; grandchildren: Lewis Marshall, Andrea Corich, Kody Marshall, Nicole Corich, Amanda Furlow, Amber and Jason Navarette, Joseph Jones, Stephanie Jones, Stuart Brown, Brandon Brown, Tiffani Casey, Matt and Amber Thornbury, Landon and Niccol Vinyard, Elyse Vinyard, and Amy Marshall; his brothers and sisters: John and Jo Ann Corich, Andy and Jean Meier, Rita and Ron Corich, Zadia Dreyer, Johnny and Veda Paul, Dottie Pflug, Donna Hart, and Herb and Debbie Gardner; 16 great-grandchildren and too many nieces and nephews to name. He also had a little dog, Milo, that loved ice cream as much as Bert did. Services will be held Wednesday, October 27th at the Odessa Funeral Home Chapel, 1700 N. Jackson, Odessa, TX at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Ronnie Newton officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
