William Ellis Blaylock age 93 passed away peacefully on November 17, 2015 at Merrill Gardens Assisted Living Facility, Oceanside. William was born in Wingo, Kentucky to parents Bryant and Hattie Blaylock. He was one of four sons. William served in WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army/Air Force 1st Combat Cargo Squadron. During his service he was awarded five Bronze Service Stars, A World War II Victory Medal, a Meritorious Unit Award and Good Conduct Medal. After the war William married Pauline Teresa. They spent their early years together in Rahway, New Jersey and moved to Huntington Beach, CA in 1965. William spent his career with United Airlines Operations Division at LAX. Retiring from United Airlines in 1984 after 38 years of service. After retirement William and Pauline moved to Carlsbad to be close to their son and family. William was preceded in death by his parents Bryant and Hattie Blaylock; brothers Nelson and Jimmy Blaylock; wife Pauline Teresa Blaylock, daughter Jacqueline Blaylock and granddaughter Kendra Rose Blaylock. William is survived by his son and daughter in law Kim & Michele Blaylock of Carlsbad, granddaughter Bella Blaylock; and brother Jerry Blaylock of Kentucky. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for William on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm, Army Navy Academy Cadet Chapel at the corner of Ocean Street and Cypress Avenue, Carlsbad, CA. William’s final resting place will be Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Mission Hospice, 2365 Northside Drive, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92108. William will be missed by all.
