Virginia (Ginger) Rose Peterson passed away on 2/22/2024. She was born 4/3/1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Lyle and Clare Gee. She grew up in, Montana, and lived in Shelby, Blackfoot and Essex as her father worked for the Great Northern Railroad. Ginger went to Washington State College (now University) where she met the love of her life and future husband Richard Peterson. They were married on June 10, 1944 at Quantico, Virginia, prior to his deployment to the Pacific during World War II. She became a housewife to a career military officer in the United States Marines. They settled in Carlsbad, California upon Richard's retirement, where Ginger resided for the next 50 years. She is preceeded in death by her husband, Richard and daughter, Lynda. Surviving family members include her son, Bruce (Paula) Peterson, grandchildren Christy (Wes) Tarwater, Cheyenne (Marco) Biondi, and Strider (Alisun) Denison, and great grandchildren Kian, Logan and Mia.
Funeral services will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park at 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, California 92054.
