He led a very passion-filled life and was a life-long learner. He was the valedictorian of his high school (Guymon High School, class of ’73). He earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Princeton University in 1977, and later went on to earn his master’s in business administration with a concentration in Marketing and Finance from Harvard University in 1982. He had a 35-year career in the Silicon Valley as a Marketing Executive and Entrepreneur. He enjoyed working with early-stage companies and was a co-founder of Objective Software.
He was a very loving and committed father. He passed on a lot of wisdom, warmth, and love for life. He dearly loved his children and they loved him back. Stan was a man who got a lot of genuine and meaningful joy from the small things of life. He loved nature, travel, good food, movies, music, and connection with others. He was a friend to many, as his enthusiasm, warm spirit, laughter, and joyful smile were contagious. He was heavily involved in his local Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) community in the San Francisco Bay Area, achieving 22 years of sobriety and serving as a sponsor to many others in the process of recovery. The AA philosophy was very influential in his life and brought him a lot peace, humility, servitude, and as a strong sense of community.
He is survived by his mother LaQuita Roach, brother Randolf Roach, daughter Marissa Lubich, and sons Alexander Roach and Benjamin Roach. He was predeceased by his father Don Roach.
Stan will be missed by many, but he lives on through the countless people that he touched. May he continue to smile and watch over us until we see him again one day.
