Ruth McClain was born May. 10, 1917, in Landrum, South Carolina., to Bessie and Walter Mize.
Ruth could accomplish most anything she set her mind to do. She was a founding member of the scholar Beta Club at her high school and served in many positions and capacities in the organizations she joined.
In her early 20’s, Ruth Mize came to California where she met and married her husband, Jack.
Ruth’s occupation could be described as “volunteer” having devoted much of time and energy to many charitable organizations beginning with “Welcome Wagon” greeting new families to the neighborhood, was a long time member of Toastmistress, and long standing member of the Bonsall Womens Club. She and her husband, Jack, built their retirement home in Fallbrook before moving and enjoying many wonderful years together in the Lawrence Welk Champagne Village where they developed many friendships.
She is survived by her Son, Greg McClain, a granddaughter and Son-in-law, and two great granddaughters.
She wished contributions be made in her name to the Salvation Army and Wounded Warrior Project in lieu flowers.
John McClain
