Born Aug. 2nd 1923 Long Beach, CA. Raised in Detroit, MI
Son of Raphael and Anna (Metz) Schwartz, Okeene, Oklahoma.
Served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946
He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Garrett) Schwartz of 51 years and Children Theresa and Ronald. Survived by children Suzanne (Michael) Lookman, Thomas (Marilyn), Mark, Glen (Amy), Bruce (Melissa), Gary and Nancy (David) Schacher. 11 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.
Ray was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America from 1960 through 1989. In 1969 he received the St. George Emblem and in 1973 received The Silver Beaver Award. He had also served as the Assistant District Commissioner of the Northridge District for the Detroit Area Council.
